Review:
I personally didn't like this book at all. I would give this book a whopping 1 star. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. This book is a waste of time for all ages. My favorite part was when tony fell of the tree and broke his arm then sonny wrote him a note saying that he should of picked a better branch. I thought that was really funny. My least favorite was the majority of the book. I really didn't enjoy the book. It was an extremely boring book. It just went on and on about useless details that weren't really important to the plot line. I thought it should of got more to the point about things and shouldn't of wasted so much time. Like this line "I went to him and put my arm around his shoulder, supporting him while he fought for air"(Hickam,421) I just feel like we don't need all of these small details and i think they should of packed it with more action instead.
Connections:
“Assuming it was flying nearly vertical, Auk XXXI had disappeared at an altitude of thirty-one thousand feet, nearly 6 miles”(Hickam,420)
These all involves aviation because rockets are a big part of aviation today and sonny built one.
“Auk XI took off with a satisfying hiss, but quickly died and fell with a plop not more than a hundred feet from the pad”(Hickam,181)
“Auk XII’s exhaust trail was still a fast stream when the rocket faltered and began to fall”(Hickam,190)
Differences/Similarities to the book and movie:
Similarities:
- Gets a signed picture from Dr. Von Brauhn
Differences:
- They comletely skipped Sonny's grandfather
- They also completely left out Tex from the science fair
